Sacred Worker

"…and what is the use of a blog", thought Alice, "without pictures or conversations?"

I haven’t put many of either in recent posts. Here for no particular reason is a nice digital image (i.e. messed-about photo), taken in Delhi in 1990 by the great photographer and writer Goswell Frand and reproduced here with his permission. It is called "Sacred Worker"

you know the saddest thing? cows like those are fast disappearing from indian cities. all we see now are stocky sleek roan or whtie-with0black-patches jerseys with their flat backs and tiny dewlaps and little horns with fringes. sometimes it is like a surreal extract from a picture of "Wisconsim - America's Dairyland!" but without the endless pastoral.
